Microchipping for Pets
Permanent ID. Peace of Mind.
At Silvercreek Animal Hospital, we offer safe, simple, and permanent microchipping to help ensure your pet can always find their way home. A microchip is a tiny device—about the size of a grain of rice—that’s implanted just under the skin, usually between the shoulder blades. The procedure is quick, virtually painless, and can be done during a regular appointment or while your pet is under anesthesia for a spay, neuter, or dental.
Each microchip contains a unique ID number that links to your contact information through a national pet recovery database. If your pet ever goes missing, veterinary clinics, shelters, and animal control officers can scan the chip and help reunite you quickly.
Benefits of microchipping:
- Permanent form of identification
- Increases the chances of being reunited if lost
- No maintenance—just keep your contact info up to date
- Recommended for both indoor and outdoor pets
If your pet isn’t microchipped yet, give us a call at 519-837-2770 to book an appointment or ask about adding it to your next visit.
